On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, hit in the ear. A volunteer fire chief was killed, and two others were wounded. Trump later said, “For 15 seconds, time stood still.” The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had been flagged as suspicious before the attack.
