Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is “ready to sign” a minerals deal with the U.S., which was delayed after a tense meeting with former President Donald Trump.
During the meeting, Trump accused Zelensky of not showing enough gratitude for U.S. military aid, causing tensions. The minerals deal, involving U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, was paused.
Speaking at Stansted Airport, Zelensky stressed that he wants Ukraine’s position to be heard and thanked the U.S. and European allies for their support.
He also hinted that he is “exchangeable for NATO,” suggesting he might step down once Ukraine joins the alliance.
Meanwhile, European leaders are working on stronger defense alliances to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty.
