Easy Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cookie Bars

If you love chocolate, caramel, and pecans, these 4-Ingredient Turtle Bars are an easy dessert worth trying. Made with refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, caramel sauce, chopped pecans, and semisweet chocolate chips, they deliver the flavors of classic turtle candy without complicated preparation. With a soft cookie base, gooey caramel filling, and golden topping, these bars are perfect for family gatherings, parties, bake sales, or holiday celebrations.

The recipe requires just 10 minutes of preparation and four simple ingredients. You’ll need one 16.5-ounce roll of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, one cup of caramel sauce, one cup of chopped pecans, and one cup of semisweet chocolate chips. For extra flavor, you can toast the pecans beforehand or replace the semisweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate. A little flaky sea salt also adds a delicious contrast to the sweetness.

To prepare the bars, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9 × 13-inch baking dish. Press about two-thirds of the cookie dough evenly into the bottom, then spread the caramel sauce over it, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and chocolate chips across the caramel, making sure the ingredients are distributed evenly for a flavorful bite in every square.

Break the remaining cookie dough into small pieces and scatter them over the top, leaving some gaps so the chocolate and caramel remain visible. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cookie topping turns golden and the center looks set. Follow the cookie dough package’s baking instructions if they differ. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, as the caramel will be very soft while hot. Refrigerating them for about 30 minutes can help create cleaner slices.

Once cooled, cut the dessert into 16 squares and serve them on their own or with vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, or a cup of coffee. Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days, following the storage requirements of your ingredients. You can also freeze them for up to two months. These simple turtle bars are a delicious way to enjoy rich chocolate, buttery pecans, and sweet caramel without spending hours in the kitchen.
