Twin babies, who died alongside their mom, believed to be youngest Hurricane Helene victims

Hurricane Helene has claimed over 230 lives across six states, leaving destruction in its path. Among the dead are five-week-old twin boys, Khyzier and Khazmir Williams, who perished with their mother, Kobe Williams, when a tree crashed into their mobile home in Georgia.

“Nobody was taking the storm seriously,” said Mary Jones, Kobe’s mother. The family stayed awake as the winds battered their home, but tragedy struck when a tree tore through the bedroom. “I asked, ‘Are they alive?’ And one officer said, ‘It’s bad, don’t go in there,’” Jones recalled, overwhelmed with grief.

Kobe’s niece, Markeya, shared that her aunt had been holding the babies in her arms, trying to shield them from the impact.

Hurricane Helene has become one of the deadliest storms since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. As communities begin the cleanup, many brace for more destruction as Hurricane Milton approaches Tampa Bay.

The devastation has left families shattered, homes destroyed, and lives forever changed.
