Hollywood Mourns the Loss of Beloved Actress at 65

Jennifer Runyon, known for her roles in Ghostbusters and Charles in Charge, has died at 65. Her family confirmed she passed away on March 6 after battling cancer for several months.

They shared that she “fought the illness for about six months before dying peacefully surrounded by loved ones,” and described her final months as challenging but filled with family support. In their message, they expressed gratitude for the time they had with her, saying she touched many lives with her kindness.

Born April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Runyon became a recognizable face in 1980s film and television. Many fans remember her from the opening scene of *Ghostbusters*, one of the decade’s most iconic films.

She also gained popularity as Gwendolyn Pierce on *Charles in Charge*, a sitcom centered on a college student working as a live-in babysitter. Over the years, she appeared in several well-known series, including Quantum Leap, Murder, She Wrote, and Magnum, P.I..

Runyon is survived by her husband, Todd Corman, and their two children. Her family said she was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments, and she will be remembered for both her on-screen work and the warmth she showed throughout her life.
