Valeria Levitin, originally from Monaco and reported to be 39 years old, has become known worldwide for her extremely low body weight of around four stone. Her appearance has often been used as a stark example of the dangers associated with severe eating disorders. While some people have reacted with concern, others have unfortunately expressed admiration for her skeletal figure, something she strongly rejects. She has addressed this directly, stating, “I’m not going to teach young girls how to die.”

Her struggles with anorexia began during her teenage years, influenced in part by her mother’s strong focus on weight and appearance. When she moved to Chicago at the age of 16, she felt pressure to fit in socially, which contributed to the start of extreme dieting habits. Over time, what began as an attempt to adapt and feel accepted developed into a long-term and serious health condition that became increasingly difficult to manage.

Valeria later pursued a modeling career, but instead of support, she was often told she was still too heavy, reinforcing harmful expectations and pushing her further into restrictive behaviors. These experiences contributed to the progression of her eating disorder. By the age of 24, her weight had dropped to around six stone, and her physical condition had deteriorated to the point where she was advised against activities like dancing due to the high risk of injury.

As her health declined further, everyday life became more challenging. She has shared that she has lost the ability to enjoy or even recall the taste of certain foods, including bread. Such effects highlight how severely anorexia can impact both the body and the basic experiences most people take for granted. Her condition serves as a reminder of how deeply eating disorders can affect physical and mental well-being.

Despite these struggles, Valeria has expressed a desire to recover and improve her life. One of her personal goals is to become a mother, which she sees as a motivating factor in her journey toward better health. She continues to speak out about her experiences, encouraging awareness and urging others who may be facing similar challenges to seek help rather than follow harmful ideals.
