The Cast of ‘Friends’ Speaks Out for the First Time Since Matthew Perry’s Sudden Passing

The Friends cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, expressed their grief over Matthew Perry’s sudden passing. In their joint statement, they emphasized their deep bond, saying, “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.” They also promised to share more in the future, adding, “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

While Matthew Perry was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, he hoped to be remembered for more than just the show. In his recently released memoir, he wrote, “When I die, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.” Perry was open about his battle with substance abuse and established the Perry House, a sober-living facility for men in Malibu.

Matthew Perry passed away at the age of 54, with reports suggesting he drowned in his LA home. His family expressed their heartbreak and appreciation for the outpouring of love from fans. Perry was found in his jacuzzi after an apparent cardiac arrest.
