Jamie Wilson, 28, is a proud transgender man and advocate who inspires others by openly sharing his female-to-male transition journey. Assigned female at birth, he began transitioning in 2015, undergoing testosterone treatment and gender-affirming procedures. “When I came out, people refused to believe I was a man because of how ‘feminine’ I presented for 18 years,” he recalls.
A musician and model, Jamie gained fame after posting before-and-after transition photos on Facebook, which went viral with 13 million views. Celebrities like Ruby Rose and Lil Wayne took notice. “That’s when it really picked up,” he said. Despite fame, he admits, “People didn’t start listening to my music until after my transition.”
Jamie uses his platform to promote trans rights, telling *The New York Times*, “Music has the power to bring people outside of the community into the community.” In 2020, he revealed he is estranged from most of his family, saying, “You have to love your child, because they are going to be who they are anyway.”
Facing criticism for being “too masculine,” he responds: “You don’t need to pass any tests to prove you’re trans… and you sure as hell don’t need ANYONE’S approval but your own.”
His message is clear — find yourself, embrace who you are, and never stop fighting for your rights.
