Students Bought This Old Couch From A Market And Took It To Their Dorm Room

A group of friends made an unexpected discovery when purchasing a couch from a Salvation Army store in February. While relaxing on the couch after a movie, they found envelopes containing $41,000 in the cushions. Tempted to spend it, their morals prevailed when they discovered an envelope with a woman’s name.

Determined to do the right thing, they returned the money to the woman, who had hidden it in the couch for over 30 years, a savings from her late husband. Despite the initial shock, the friends felt they had acted ethically. In a heartwarming turn, the woman rewarded their honesty with a $1,000 gift. This story underscores the significance of moral integrity, emphasizing the importance of doing the right thing, even when unexpected windfalls occur.
