Mom of rare twins with Down syndrome shuts down critics with photo showing how beautiful they are

The chances of having twins have risen by 72% between 1980 and 2018, with 33 out of 1,000 births resulting in twins. Every three or four births out of 1,000 are identical twins, making them relatively rare.

At 23, Savannah Combs was excited to learn she was pregnant with twins. The joy took an emotional turn when both identical twins, Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, were found to have Down syndrome. Despite suggestions to abort, Savannah and her husband, Justin Ackerman, decided to give their babies a fighting chance.

Born prematurely on May 12, 2021, the twins, labeled mono di twins, spent weeks in the NICU. Savannah shares their feisty and happy personalities on TikTok, documenting their milestones.

Facing criticism on social media, Savannah responds with resilience, emphasizing her commitment to her daughters. She challenges stereotypes, promoting the message that, despite their rare condition, her twins are just like any other children.
