In this case, the strange structures were simply its legs, while the enlarged shape on its back was part of its natural body.
Treehoppers normally live outdoors on trees, shrubs, and other plants, where they feed on plant sap. So finding one beneath a bedroom blanket was certainly unusual. It most likely entered the home accidentally through an open window or door, or perhaps arrived on clothing, a bag, or another object brought inside.
Thankfully, there was no reason to panic.
