BODY ACNE: 4 TIPS TO GET RID OF THEM

Body acne, often appearing on the back, chest, or shoulders, can be stubborn and uncomfortable, but it can be managed with the right habits. One of the most important steps is keeping your skin clean, especially after sweating. Sweat can trap oil and dirt in your pores, so showering as soon as possible after workouts helps prevent breakouts. Using a gentle, non-comedogenic body wash keeps the skin clean without clogging pores.

Exfoliating regularly also plays a key role in preventing acne. Dead skin cells can build up and block pores, leading to more breakouts. Chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid or glycolic acid work well because they go deeper into the skin and help clear out buildup. Using them a few times a week is usually enough to keep pores clean without irritating the skin.

Clothing choices can also make a difference. Tight or non-breathable fabrics can trap sweat and irritate the skin, making acne worse. Wearing loose, breathable, and moisture-wicking clothes—especially during physical activity—helps reduce friction and keeps the skin dry. Changing out of sweaty clothes quickly is just as important.

Targeted treatments can help reduce inflammation and fight acne-causing bacteria. Ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or tea tree oil are commonly used and can be applied daily to affected areas. Consistency matters here, as results don’t appear overnight but improve with regular use.

It’s also important to avoid picking or scratching acne, as this can lead to irritation, scarring, or infection. Sticking to a simple routine for several weeks gives the skin time to heal. If acne doesn’t improve or becomes severe, seeking help from a dermatologist may provide stronger and more effective treatment options.
