Slice pool noodles into rings and wrap them with string lights. You’ll see why everyone’s obsessed with this one.

Pool noodle ring lights have become a popular DIY trend because they’re affordable, easy, and stylish. A simple foam noodle can be turned into glowing décor that looks expensive but isn’t. As described, they’re “cheap, lightweight, and surprisingly stylish,” offering a high-end look without the cost.

They’re also beginner-friendly. Since pool noodles are light, you can hang them almost anywhere—ceilings, patios, trees, or walls—without heavy tools. “Anyone can make them — if you can slice foam and wrap string lights, you have the skills.”

To make them, you’ll need pool noodles, LED string lights, a knife, and something to secure the lights like tape or zip ties. Start by cutting the noodle into 1–3 inch rings, keeping them even. You can reshape or connect pieces to form larger circles if needed.

Then wrap LED lights around each ring. You can space them out for a soft glow or wrap tightly for a brighter effect. Finish by securing the ends neatly. LED lights are recommended because “they stay cool and are safe for foam,” unlike incandescent bulbs.

These glowing rings can be used in many ways—hung in clusters, placed along paths, or used as centerpieces. Beyond decoration, they create a cozy atmosphere and feel luxurious on a budget. With little effort, they can turn any space into something unique and inviting.
