“That Includes Himself”: Fetterman Roasted for Saying Americans “Not Sending Their Brightest” to DC

Senator John Fetterman, known for his casual attire and speech difficulties due to a stroke, criticized the quality of DC lawmakers on “The Late Show.” When asked about awkward interactions with colleagues he’s made memes about, he responded, “America is not sending their best and brightest to Washington, D.C. Sometimes you literally just can’t believe… these people are making the decisions that are determining the government here. It’s actually scary.”

Fetterman also poked fun at Senators upholding a business attire dress code, creating the “Fetterman Rule” to challenge it. He emphasized that the situation in Ukraine and government shutdowns are more crucial than his clothing choices.

He expressed support for Israel but highlighted the Speaker of the House issue hindering congressional actions. Fetterman stated, “I know the president is committed to making sure that we deliver for Israel. But also Ukraine as well, too. We have a pivotal kind of position to be in that we have to stand with both of these kinds of campaigns, to stand for those kinds of people that are fighting against these kinds of awful kinds of enemies.”
