Kristin Cabot’s husband has spoken out after a viral video showed her with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert. The clip, which spread worldwide, showed Byron with his arms around Cabot before they quickly pulled apart when the camera caught them. Chris Martin joked to the crowd, “Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
The viral moment fueled speculation, but Andrew Cabot’s spokeswoman clarified: “He and Kristin were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert. Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening.” She added, “Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure… No further public comment will be made.”
After the incident, both Byron and Cabot resigned from Astronomer. The company’s board stated: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation.”
Interim CEO Pete DeJoy admitted the scandal brought “a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter,” calling it “unusual and surreal.”
Neither Cabot nor Byron has publicly commented on the matter.
