In 1944, during World War II, 24-year-old Army veteran K.T. Robbins fell in love with 18-year-old Jeannine Ganaye in northeastern France. After a brief encounter, he promised to return, but circumstances led him back to the U.S. They moved on with their lives, but their love endured through the years. Now, after 75 years, they were reunited in Jeannine’s French retirement home. The emotional reunion, organized by a French TV station for the D-Day anniversary, brought 97-year-old K.T. to meet 92-year-old Jeannine. “I always loved you,” K.T. said. Jeannine, speaking in French, expressed, “He said he loves me…I understood that much.” Their enduring love story, spanning seven decades, touched hearts in a poignant reunion.
